Geordie Shepherd
As a kid, I could always be found drawing with pencils and paper in hand, drawing away no matter where I was. Then during my B.F.A., I took Ceramics and fell in love with clay, and forever afterwards could be found in the Ceramics lab. Whenever my painting professor John Fox wanted to find me, he said he always looked in the ceramics lab. Though ceramics took over as my primary medium, I still relied on writing, drawing and video to develop my ideas and broaden their artistic possibilities. Over the years my practice has evolved through various ideas and themes that were all rooted in an exploration of self and our place imagined and real. I currently maintain an art studio in London and teach at the University of Western Ontario.
