This work was made during my graduate studies and incorporated art objects, performances in studio and at a Zen monastery, and site specific Land Art made throughout the south western United States. It began with an existential artistic investigation into the meaning of "Nothing" that sought to reveal the bare essential artistic value. In later works, the notion of "Something" was introduced and can be seen in the piece “Beyond Nothing”, where a sliver of Nothing grows into Something.
